The Virtual Implementation Kit (Canvas)
NCDPI's Virtual Implementation Kit (VIK) provides a variety of resources for supporting administration, educators, and parents during implementation of the adopted 2017 Standard Course of Study. The range of resources include aligned lessons for each grade level.


Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted Instructional Resources Project
This site provides teachers with instructional resources to challenge gifted students K-12. Click on the grade levels to view these instructional resources.


Achieve the Core
This site offers demonstration lessons focused on rich texts, high quality text-dependent questions, and aligned writing tasks. The lessons are designed around the ELA/Literacy instructional shifts.


Anthology Alignment Project
The Anthology Alignment Project (AAP) offers replacement lessons for anthologies aligned to the Standards. To access the lessons, create an Edmodo account and use the code jsv4r7.


Basal Alignment Project
The Basal Alignment Project (BAP) offers replacement lessons for Basal readers aligned to the Standards. To access the lessons, create an Edmodo account and use the code f4q6nm.


Better Lesson
The NEA (National Education Association) and the Master Teacher Project partnered to share best practices aligned to the Standards.. It features more than 10,000 K-12 lessons developed by teachers.


NC Quality Review for K-2 and 3-12
Adapted from Achieve, Inc.'s EQuIP rubric, the NC Quality Review helps educators evaluate and identify high-quality lessons and units aligned to the Standards.


NC Instructional Practice Guides for K-2 and 3-12
Adapted from Student Achievement Partners' Instructional Practice Guides (IPG), these tools have been revised to reflect the NC Instructional Practices in the ELA classroom. The IPGs are for teachers, and those who support teachers, to build understanding and experience with NC SCOS-aligned instruction. These tools are not meant to be evaluative.

The Literacy Design Collaborative offers educators with access to hundreds of teacher-created lesson plans aligned to the Standards.


OER Commons
Open Education Resources is an open digital library and network for educators dedicated to curriculum and improvement. Educators can sort lessons by standard, grade level, and subject. Additionally, OER provides a lesson builder to ensure alignment to the Standards.


Read Aloud Project
The Read Aloud Project (RAP) offers lessons for K-2 read aloud books. These lessons were developed with an emphasis on alignment to the Standards, including quality sequenced text-dependent questions, speaking and listening tasks, writing prompts, and academic vocabulary. UnboundEd
UnboundED provides free standards-aligned lessons, resources, and professional learning for teachers and school leaders.
